Lucia Papanetzová studied religious music (organ with L. Kiss and choir conducting with P. Tužinský) at the J. L. Bella Conservatory in Banská Bystrica (1992 – 1997), where she was introduced to composition by the St. Petersburg composer and pianist Evgeni Irshai. She continued at the Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Bratislava in the class of Vladimír Bokes (1998 - 2003) and then as a postgraduate student of the Department of composition and conducting, where she has been teaching since 2006. She is the founder and organizer of the Orpheus Student Festival of Contemporary Music and co-founder of the association of young composers SOOZVUK. Her compositions have been performed at several festivals: New Slovak Msuic, Orpheus, Melos-Ethos, Studio N Prague, St. Petersburg Music Spring.
