Information

Athelas has long been established as a leading Danish Chamber ensemble and the nation’s foremost new music ensemble. Concert series, participation in operas and festivals, international tours, recordings of new Danish and international music and an imaginative concert program has set Athelas out as a remarkable institution. Time after time, a unanimous press has emphasised the high artistic standard of the ensemble.
Athelas Sinfonietta Copenhagen has performed around 350 different music works written in the last half of the 20th century. In the new millennium, Athelas continues the tradition of premiering works by Danish and international composers. The ensemble has premiered the most prominent Danish composers along with many internationally recognised composers.
