D’un rêve parti: lost dream or rave party? The SPECTRA Ensemble performs work by two composers with roots in the improvisation scene: ‘D’un Rêve Parti’ by Bruno Mantovani refers to a rave party whereas Alexandros Markeas’ ‘Zapping’ is a dialogue between a solo percussionist and his video-mirror image. In ‘The tool from light’ by Grzegorz Duchnowski and in ‘Spiegelbilder’ by Isabel Mundry the russian bayan is the main instrument. Three works are part of the European RE:NEW MUSIC project. The SPECTRA Ensemble conducted by Filip Rathé. The concert is part of the Jazz & Sounds Festival in Ghent. Composer Alexandros Markeas from France is a guest during the festival, and he will rehearse with the ensemble and give a five session workshop on the works of Julian Eastman. The rehearsal will be open for the audience. March 27 at 20:00 in the auditorium of the Music Centre De Bijloke, Ghent. |
