13 works competing for this years Nordic Music prize

13 works are nominated in this year's prestigious, major Nordic music prize for works by living composers. The theme for the Nordic Council's Music Prize 2010 is "A contemporary work in which all involved play their own part".


The following works have been nominated:

Hans Abrahamsen: Schnee (Denmark)
Simon Steen-Andersen: In spite of and maybe even therefore (Denmark)

Jukka Tiensuu: Rack (Finland)
Sebastian Fagerlund: Sky (Finland)

Daníel Bjarnason: Bow to string (Iceland)
Purídur Jónsdóttir: Í dag er kvöld (Iceland)

Lasse Thoresen: Op. 42 (Norway)
Christian Wallumrød: Fabula suite lugano (Norway)

Jesper Nordin: Pendants (Sweden)
Jan W. Mothenson: Epilogos (Sweden)

Tróndur Bogason: Butterfly (Faroe Islands)

Rasmus Lyberth: Hey Hey (Greenland)

Kjell frisk: Aubade-Estampida (Åland)

The winner of the Nordic Council Music Prize will be announced on 1
June 2010, and the prize will be awarded at the Nordic Council Session
in Reykjavik at the end of October. Read more
