Notes
| Programme notes |
Imaginary Landscapes could be described as a series of musical flashes, that through a cohesive material form an organic whole. In the slow opening section, there opens a motif, that gradually grows and gets more intensive. The quick ostinato rhythms and arpeggios form an opposite to that motif, and that works as an independent element throughout the piece. The material of the work goes through numerous metamorphoses. However, it is not question of a constant progression, and we return to the basic materials time after time, and their various characteristics are looked at again and again.
